How long would it take to reach the stars?
A modern spacecraft, travelling at about 25,000 mph (40,000 kph), would take years to reach the edge of our solar system. Even if it could travel at the speed of light (186,400 miles per second/300,000 kilometres per second), it would take more than four years to reach the next star.
