Who were the first astronomers?
|
| In Roman times the god Jupiter was lord of the skies. | More than 4,000 years ago, Chinese astronomers were making accurate observations of the stars and planets. About the same time the Babylonians were recording the night sky. They believed that the stars revealed the ways of their gods. Many of the constellations are named after the gods of ancient times.
