What were Greek houses like?
In the 5th century BC, wealthy Greeks had grand houses made of clay bricks, with stone or tile floors. There were separate rooms for eating, cooking, washing, and sleeping, built around an open courtyard. The poorer people lived in houses with only one or two rooms.
