How did Stegosaurus get warm?
The mighty Stegosaurus was a large, 7.5-metre-long dinosaur with a double row of armoured plates on its back. These may have been useful in defence but were probably also used to control body temperature. They would have gathered heat from the Sun's rays to warm Stegosaurus up. Breezes passing through the plates would have helped Stegosaurus cool off if it was too hot.
