How does a shark hunt its prey?
Although sharks have poor eyesight, they have an excellent sense of smell. They can detect blood diluted a million times in water and will home in on a wounded animal in the sea. Sharks are also able to detect vibrations in the water caused, for example, by the thrashing movements of an injured fish.
