Why does a zebra have stripes?
|
Some people believe that a zebra's stripes act as a sort of camouflage, making individual animals hard to spot. But now scientists think there are other reasons for the stripes. They may dazzle lions and other cats that attack the zebra. Or they may help the members of a zebra herd recognise each other.
