What is a rhino's horn made of?
Although it may look solid and bony, the horn of a rhino is made of the same material as hair and hooves. Rhinos are sometimes illegally killed for their horns, in the belief that the horn makes a good medicine. As a result, rhinos are rare and endangered today even though the trade in their horns is banned in most countries.
