How do kangaroos and wallabies run?
|
Kangaroos and wallabies run using their large and powerful back legs to hop. The small front legs are used only for feeding and grooming. The long, robust tail helps the animal balance when it is hopping. Some kangaroos can reach speeds of 25 miles per hour (40 kilometres per hour) or more and are able to hop for long periods of time. Kangaroos live in Australia.
