How is timber cut from a tree trunk?
|
A felled tree trunk is first stripped of its branches. It is then cut lengthways in an ordered way so that no timber is wasted. First, two sides of the trunk are cut to produce thin planks of wood. Then the central part of the tree trunk is cut into thicker lengths of wood suitable for building work.
