What is the difference between a dolphin and a porpoise?
Most dolphins have a beaklike nose and a large swelling on the forehead. Porpoises, which are the smallest of the whales, have a somewhat stubby head and never have a beak. Dolphins and porpoises are both types of small whale. They feed on fish and can swim very fast to catch their prey.
