What is soil made of?
|
|
Soil is a mixture of rock particles and humus, which is made up of the tissues of dead plants and animals. The humus breaks down and releases minerals which help plants grow. Below the soil is the rocky subsoil, and beneath that the solid rock known as bedrock.
