Why was the Great Wall of China built?
|
The Great Wall of China was built by Chinese emperors to keep out invaders. Most of it was built by the emperor Shih Huang Ti between 221 BC and 204 BC. The wall finally reached a length of about 6,000 kilometres. Much of the wall is still standing.
