How do we get electricity?
Electricity made at power stations is distributed along cables at a very high voltage. The cables cross the countryside, strung between tall transmission towers. Electricity is distributed inside towns and cities by underground cables. Before it can be used, its voltage must be reduced. The final voltage varies from country to country.
