How do hair dryers blow out hot air?
|
A hair drier uses electricity in two different ways. When you switch it on, a small electric motor turns a fan inside. The fan sucks in air from the back of the hair drier, and blows it out at the front. As the air travels through the hair drier, it passes over a set of wire coils called elements. These are heated by the electricity, warming the air as it passes.
