How does a turbine work?
|
A turbine is a machine that uses gas or liquid to make a shaft turn. Water hitting the buckets of a Pelton wheel drives the buckets around and turns the shaft. Wind spins the blades of a wind turbine. Wind and water turbines often drive electricity generators.
