What is the Great Red Spot?
|
Jupiter's Great Red Spot is a swirling storm 30,000 kilometres across. It was first seen by astronomers as long ago as 1664. Storms on Earth last a few weeks at most. The Great Red Spot has lasted for centuries because Jupiter has no solid surface to slow it down.
