There are two main divisions of Buddhism Hinayana (followed in Sri Lanka and southeast Asia) and Mahayana (followed in northeast Asia). There are many smaller groupings, too, with over 100 different forms of Buddhist worship in Japan alone. Buddhism is the world's fourth largest religion, with nearly 315,000,000 followers.
