Celebrating Jazz
Jazz music was born in the United States about 100 years ago, and was invented by African Americans. Famous American jazz festivals were first held in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Newport, Rhode Island. Today, many cities around the world, such as Montreal in Canada, hold their own jazz festivals.
The trumpet, the double bass, the drums, and a singer are a typical line-up for a jazz band.
