Chinese Dragon
|
| A Chinese dragon | A beautiful paper dragon is carried through the streets to mark the Chinese New Year, or 'Spring Festival'. Firecrackers explode, frightening away evil spirits. Because the date of the Chinese New Year depends on the phases of the moon, it can take place between January 21 and February 20. This is the most important holiday of the year in China. Doors are decorated with New Year greetings. Families get together for feasts and give each other presents.
