New Year Myanmar
|
Water is splashed and sprayed around by happy crowds in Myanmar (formerly known as Burma) to mark their New Year. The festival is great fun, but it has a serious side for the participants, who are Buddhists. They pour water on their heads showing that they are 'washing away' the old year and making themselves clean and pure for the coming year.
