Egemenlik Bayrami is a children's festival held each year in Turkey, on the 23 April. It was started in 1920 by the man who founded modern Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatrk. Children perform folk dances in national costume, sing and play music, fly kites, and watch puppet shows.
