Elephant-Headed God
During the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, a giant statue of Ganesh, the god of wisdom, is carried to the sea near the Indian city of Bombay. Ganesh is said to be the son of the Hindu gods Shiva and Parvati. Legends tell how Shiva cut off Ganesh's head, but replaced it with the head of a wise elephant.
