Pilgrimage is a sacred duty for Muslims, who try to make the 'Hajj', or pilgrimage to Mecca, at least once in their lifetime. Dressed in white (to show that they are equal in the sight of God), they visit the Grand Mosque and pass seven times around the 'Ka'aba', a chamber with a holy black stone in one corner. Mohammed said that this stone had been given to Abraham by the angel Gabriel.
