Mexican Voladors
|
| Aztec Voladors swing from ropes | Aztec warriors of ancient Mexico used to 'fly' at one religous festival. Dressed like birds, they jumped off the top of a high pole. They were tied to the pole by ropes , so they whirled around and around through the air before landing. Their flight was meant to be like that of the Sun across the Sky. This 'Volador' ceremony may still be seen in Mexico today.
