About 18 million people follow the Sikh faith. It is centred in north-western India, but has followers wherever Indians have settled in the world, from East Africa to Canada. Sikhs living overseas worship on the day of the week that is a day of worship in that country. The Sikh flag is flown from many Gurdwaras.
