Sikh Scriptures

The Sikh holy scriptures, the Guru Granth Sahib or Adi Granth, are carried in procession at a festival held to open a new Gurdwara in Kenya, Africa. The scriptures play an important part in the life of every Sikh. They are the first words a baby hears on being born and are at the centre of every Sikh wedding ceremony. Each copy of the scriptures has its own special room and must be treated with great respect.
