Sea Dwellers
Sea creatures called trilobites had large, round eyes with more than 1000 lenses.

The giant sea creature Elasmosaurus had 76 vertebrae in its backbone, the largest number of any animal ever known.

Sponges, which feed by drawing in water through pores on their body surface, have remained almost unchanged for 600 million years.

A fish called the coelacanth was believed to have been extinct for 70 million years until it was rediscovered in the waters off the African coast in 1938.
