The only person in medical history to have been both a dwarf and a giant was an Austrian called Adam Rainer. In 1920, aged 21, he measured only 118cm tall. He then grew at an alarming rate to 218cm. This rapid growth made him so weak he became bedridden until he died aged 51, measuring 234cm.
