The New Kingdom
The Hyksos were driven out by the kings of the New Kingdom. The kings also conquered an empire in the Middle East, whose people paid taxes to Egypt. But by the 19th Dynasty, Egypt itself was threatened by the warlike Hittites. Egypts greatness began to fade, as rival dynasties fought for the throne.

Egypt could no longer defend itself. Foreign conquerors took over - first the Nubians, then the Assyrians and the Persians. The great days of Egypt were over.

(A) BATTLE
In the New Kingdom, Egyptian armies fought as far away as Mesopotamia (Iraq). They now had chariots, but their weapons were still mostly bronze. People like the Hittites had harder, iron weapons.
