Bayeux Tapestry
Soon after the defeat of Harald Hardrada, England was successfully invaded by the Normans. The Norman Conquest was recorded in the Bayeux Tapestry. Norman means 'Norseman' - the first Normans were Viking settlers. However, by 1066 their descendants had become French men and women.
