Thread one end of the cord through the buttons (or the eyelet you have glued on) and knot the two ends of the cord together.

Your pendant is now finished! Make sure that the knot is at the back of your neck when you wear your new pendant.

There are many different materials you could attach to the large coat button to make your pendant. Can you think of some? (What about balls of silver paper?) How would you attach them to the button?
