These are the letters of the Roman alphabet. Although
they aren't exactly the same as the letters we use today, they are similar.
This is because our alphabet is based on the Latin alphabet, and the Romans
spoke Latin.

The Romans hardly ever used the
letters K, Y and Z, while the letter J was the same as I, and U the same
as V.
