Making moneyObviously you will want to make money by running your shop. However, all of the things we have talked about are called overheads, and as a shop owner you would have to pay for them all. Just think, you have to design your shop, buy your stock, pay for it to be delivered, buy displays, pay your staff's wages and pay all of those bills. All of that is going to be expensive, so how on earth are you going to make any money? Well, to make money you're going to have to be pretty good at maths. - Firstly you will need to buy your stock at the lowest price you can. - Then you will need to sell it for more money than you bought it for. - You'll need to make sure you add on enough money on to cover the cost of all of your overheads and still make some money for yourself. - But be careful not to add too much on, or your customers will start going somewhere else to buy the goods cheaper. So you can see that running a shop is pretty complicated! But practice your maths, and one day you could have your own shop selling clothes, music, bicycles, TVs - anything you want!
