Fats
When people think of 'fat', they tend to think of something
that isn't very good for them. However, you need some types of fat to
stay healthy as they keep you warm and give the body energy. Some fats
are easy to see like fat on meats or fried food. Other fats are hidden
in foods like biscuits and nuts. This is why many people eat too much,
which can make you overweight and cause heart disease.
The fats in fish are very good for you, helping
the blood to flow round your body. The fats in meat and dairy foods can
make your blood sticky and stop your heart from working properly. For
a healthy heart, cut back on fats from milk, butter and meat and try to
eat healthier fats from fish and olive oil.
