Fibre

Although you can't digest fibre, it is a very important part of your diet. When you eat it, it passes through your stomach and helps to push waste out of your body. When you eat food, it is squeezed through tubes inside you called intestines. Eating fibre helps the tubes to squeeze properly.

Most fibre comes from foods like bread, cereals, rice, pasta, fruit and vegetables. The fibre in fruit and vegetables is particularly good, helping blood to flow round the body properly.
