Have you ever considered what makes a good website? Get together with some friends and see if you can come up with a list of the things that you feel are important in a website.

How many did you come up with?

Here are a few ideas:

• A good website should be interesting to look at. Most websites use colour, animations and graphics to make them look more interesting.
  
  
• A good website should be easy to navigate. This means that it is easy to find the things that you want to find, and you might even find things that you did not intend to find too!
  
  
• Websites are usually updated regularly, so what you might see one day might be different the next time you visit the site. This means it's much more interesting to you, and it might make you want to return to the site again and again.
  
  
• Since the internet is about sharing information, a good site should have some point to it. This could be entertaining, or educational, or selling something, but whatever the point is, it should have something that the person visiting it wants. Some sites are just funny, and there's nothing wrong with that - we all like to laugh!
