What do you think the future holds for the internet? If you think about the things that the internet can do today and about the different ways information can be communicated, (sending email through your TV, playing music on your computer) there's a pattern there. All of these things are merging into one main system. Can you imagine it? We might soon have a TV/computer/stereo all rolled into one. It'd have to be called a Tomputereo, or something like that!

But what if we could use the internet for much more than this? Can you think of ways we might use it in the future? How about using the internet to make a cup of tea? This is not as impossible as it might seem. A house today which has all of the latest technology can have a remote control system so that you can actually tell it to turn up the heating or cook your dinner using your mobile phone as you are coming home from work or school! Amazing isn't it?!

But how about using the internet to download your dinner?! That's a bit more complicated. Or maybe we could travel through the internet? Well, maybe not just yet. But you never know what the future holds… Beam me up!
