Point of ViewYou need to decide whether to write your story in the "first person" or the "third person." The first-person pronoun is "I", so writing in first person means telling a story as if it happened to you. Third-person pronouns are "he," "she," and "it", so writing in the third person means telling a story as if it's all about other people. Even if you write in third person, try to tell the story through the eyes of just one character, usually the character. This is called "point of view". To make the story believable, you should avoid telling anything that this character wouldn't know. If you really need to tell something this character wouldn't know or see, create a completely separate section or chapter with the point of view of another character. You also need to decide whether to write in the "present tense" or in the "past tense." Writing in past tense means writing as if the story already happened, and is how most stories are written. Writing in the present tense means writing as if the story is happening right now. You should stick to one tense or the other, or it could get confusing.
