Vocabulary

Your choice of words is very important. Using simple words and short sentences to make a point - often the simple approach is the better approach.

When you are describing action, it can be a bit dull to use the same words all of the time - if all of the characters always 'walked slowly' or 'spoke gently' the story would be a pretty dull read, but there are plenty of different ways to describe action. Have a go at the Action Generator - click 'STOP' to see a suggestion, and 'GO' to restart. These produce a verb and an adverb combined, which may be of use to you. The words appear randomly so some may be useful, but some may just be funny!
