D-Day - the greatest invasion in history, was launched against Nazi-occupied Europe on 6th June 1944. More than 300,000 British, American and other Allied troops fought their way onto the beaches of France. Piper Bill Millin tells us of his experience of D-Day. Commanded by Lord Lovat – clan chief of the Clan Fraser – he piped the Commandos onto the beaches at Normandy. He relates the effect hearing the pipes had on the morale of the D-Day troops.
