Edward was not old enough to rule when his father died in 1483. His uncle, Richard, became regent, ruling in his place. Edward was probably only 12 years old when he and his younger brother, 'the Princes in the Tower', were murdered, although a great mystery surrounds exactly what happened to the two princes to this day.
